We Drifted,

we drifted, floating upon the warm waves releasing our will to its everlasting embracing lifted by the powerful tides enough to make us cry never questioned where we may arise nor noticed the riptide we drifted, further and further apart pulled by the undertow we were drowning in doubt all hope was lost the more we fought swept under by passion resentment had won the bout we drifted, until pushed upon the shore separated by life's sand we stood alone once more greeted by the ocean's foam the water had turned so cold reminding us to not let go but remain in the bittersweet soil
